Lake McQueeney was impounded in 1928 on the Guadalupe River watershed in Guadalupe County approximately two miles west of Seguin. The pond area is 400 acres with a storage capacity of 5,050 acre-feet. The lake's prominent feature is Treasure Island, a residential area reached by a connecting bridge. Most of the lake is approximately 10 feet deep, with deeper sections along the center channel. Boating, water skiing, jet skiing and fishing are allowed. Lake McQueeney is home to Lake Breeze Ski Lodge, a private club and restaurant open during the summer months which offers members a place to relax, ski and swim. McQueeney is also famous for the local ski team called the “Ski Bees” which performs at the Ski Lodge every Thursday during the summer. Lake McQueeney also offers angling opportunities to include Largemouth Bass, Channel catfish, Crappie, and Sunfish.
