Lake Placid History and Facts

Lake Placid is located in Guadalupe County between Lake McQueeney and Meadow Lake. The pond area is 248 acres with a storage capacity of 2,624 acre-feet. Most of the lake is shallow with maximum depths of 30-35 feet near the dam. A public boat ramp is located at Exit 605 off IH-10 on the Seguin side of the river. Boating, water skiing, jet skiing and fishing are allowed. Lake Placid also offers angling opportunities to include Largemouth Bass, Channel catfish, Crappie, and Sunfish. The lake is home to many native aquatic plants including cattail, pondweeds, American lotus, spatterdock, and rushes.
