Seguin, Texas Homes For Sale
Seguin History and FactsSeguin is one of the oldest towns in Texas. In 1838, a group of frontier Rangers laid out a settlement among beautiful live oaks beside Walnut Springs on the Guadalupe River. They soon named the town for Col. Juan N. Seguin, a Tejano who fought beside the Angle settlers against the brutal Mexican dictator Santa Anna. Seguin is strategically located in South Central Texas on Interstate Highway 10 in Guadalupe county. San Antonio, the tenth largest city in the United States, is thirty minutes west of Seguin via IH-10. Austin, the state capital, is conveniently accessible 50 miles to the north by State Highway 123 and Interstate Highway 35. Seguin is well known for its famous Texas Size Pecan, Starcke Park, Guadalupe river and the Down town historic district including Sebastopol State Historic Site and Texas Agricultural Education and Heritage Center. Seguin just announced Caterpillar is to open a one million-square-foot plant will be built on 180 acres along Interstate 10 at Texas 46 and is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2011. The engine manufacturing plant will employ over 1400 people. View Seguin Properties By Price
